How to Resize the Settings Popup Window in FlowMattic
Starting with v5.1.0, FlowMattic now allows you to resize the settings popup window while configuring any step in your workflow. This enhancement makes it easier to view longer content, avoid unnecessary horizontal scrolling, and work efficiently on smaller or wide screens.
Whether youβre mapping dynamic fields, writing large expressions, or if your settings popup is hiding the workflow steps due to small screen size and you want to see your workflow steps alongside the settings panelβthis feature will give you more flexibility and control.
Example: Resize handles visible when hovering on the left and bottom edges.
π§ Why This Feature is Useful
- β Reduces horizontal scrolling when content exceeds visible width
- β Helps on smaller screen sizes by allowing a larger view of input fields
- β Keeps the workflow canvas visible while editing steps
- β Useful when working with long dynamic tokens or large configuration blocks
π Note: This does not impact vertical scrolling unless the content fits fully within the resized window height.
π Step-by-Step: How to Resize the Settings Window
1. Open Any Workflow Step
- In your FlowMattic workflow, click on any step (trigger, action, or condition) to open the configuration panel.
2. Hover to Reveal Resize Handles
- Move your mouse to the left edge or bottom edge of the settings popup.
- You will see arrow-like resize handles appear only when you hover over these edges.
3. Click and Drag to Resize
- Drag horizontally from the left edge to adjust width.
- Drag vertically from the bottom edge to adjust height.
- The popup will immediately resize and adapt its contents to fit.
4. Continue Editing Seamlessly
- You can now configure your step with a broader view.
- The resized popup helps keep both your settings and workflow canvas visible together.
π§ Important Notes
- π Resize is session-based: The new size will persist only during the current browser session.
- If you refresh, restart your browser, open the editor in a new browser, or switch to incognito mode, the popup will reset to its default size.
- π Hover is required: Resize indicators appear only when you hover your mouse on the edge of the popup.
- π You can resize both width (left) and height (bottom) independently to suit your preference.
π‘ Pro Tips
- When working with code, HTML blocks, or JSON responses, widen the popup for easier editing.
- On larger monitors, take advantage of the screen space by expanding the popup fully.
- If using many dynamic tokens, a wider view helps see full token names without horizontal scroll.
This small but powerful feature improves your day-to-day workflow building experience in FlowMattic. Give it a try and adjust your workspace the way that suits you best!
